Read the story on Mainichi. There, they state he is on camer a few hundred yards from the crime scene. But the cameras that are by the train station and much closer to the scene of the crime show nothing, or a person that does not fit his description.

It's time to just wait and let the investigation run its course, and hopefully its not a forced confession that does it.

This is weird. Why are the j-satsu rationing out info. Are there inconsistencies in the evidence, are they being slow and deliberate because of the political implications, or are they wringing this guy in the hope of a confession? This case should be slam-dunk if they have a knife with fingerprints.

Great investigation. Except for one thing; the sailor already said he was in the area but that he didn't kill Takahashi. All the videos prove so far is that the sailor didn't lie about being near the murder scene.

Not only is the kid going to end up going down over this, but unless his buddy contacted the authorities (we don't know yet) after receiving the phone call, then he's in some deep sh*t his own self.
