Get off your high horse Damax6. We have the right to voice our own opinions as the Japanese do when they are overseas. Maybe you should have some respect for other's opinions, Japan is a democracy and so we are allowed to have concerns and opinions about Sumo.

And, at least he made an apology? Didn't he deny having (or using the stuff) recently? By anyone's book, that makes him a liar as well.

He did nothing wrong. If Japan is so messed up that they make such a big deal out of it, then it's their problem not his. He should apply for work at WWE while they are still here. He shouldn't have apologized and should have held his head up straight.

Japan clasifies a doob as an A class drug.. pathetic. It`s not as if its a perfomance enhancing drug is it??

I think if someone say wins a race or sport while smoking a candle beforehand should get a pat on the back.. fair play!

Marijuana is on the WADA banned list. Simple as that.

And for those of you that think it isn't a performance enhancing drug you'd be wrong. In many sports it is in fact performance enhancing.

This may be part of an elaborate trap to eliminate Russian sumo. Their complexion might offend the "traditional immage" of sumo. It has been proven that a background in Greco-Roman wrestling or Mongolian style wrestling is superior to "traditional" sumo training. The Russians will dominate just as the Mongolians. But the Mongolian complexion doesn't offend the race-sensitive Japanese. His obvious misadventure in Roppongi had DIRE consequences.

What is wrong with this whole mess is the stupid law banning an innocent substance from demanding consumers. He did not harm anyone, neither did his wrestling results were affected by this drug. He did nothing wrong. Please try to follow my logic.

Nothing to do with logic. So if I speed down the road and don't hit anyone it is ok because I never harmed anyone?

Either way it don't matter if the law is considered stupid or not. Heck, there are tons of laws in my home-country I consider stupid but know that if I break them I get nailed.

So what was the "awful" thing that he was apologizing for? I see people smoking all the time, in areas clearly marked "no smoking", and I don't believe they get fired from their jobs.

And marijuana could indeed be considered to be performance-enhancing... especially if you're going for a high score in Arkanoid or Tetris.
