Police in Kumagaya, Saitama Prefecture, on Tuesday arrested a 41-year-old woman on suspicion of beating to death a 41-year-old man with whom she lived.
According to police, the suspect, Chieko Hashimoto, beat Hideyuki Yokogawa about the head and face while he slept on Sunday night, TBS reported.
Hashimoto was quoted by police as saying, “We had a quarrel after drinking on Sunday night and I hit him several times. When I woke up in the morning, I found him on the floor and called 119."
Police said Hashimoto told them she lost her temper and didn't mean to kill Yokogawa.

Some couples just get mean with each other when they are drinking. It doesn't sound like he had been abusive for years to her previous to the murder. I don't think anyone is laughing, least of all her. Don't use this awful incident as a chance for bitter anti-female comments. She is a murderer.

Damn, I've woken up after some benders to find some strange things.
Never a dead guy though.

At first I was thinking it was an unfortunate loss of temper thing. While he was sleeping?? There was a build up before the "loss of temper". A bit of evil going on in her mind. As a rational Feminist, I think the others were just pre-empting the irrational 'you go, girl' crowd's comments. She says she hit him several times, but he was beaten to death. I wonder what with.

Hope she gets coming to her what anyone else would in the same situation, male or female. That she did it while he was sleeping and she doesn't seem to remember it well is all the more heinous and should certainly not be forgiven any less based on gender.

Because some woman beat some man to death? (I'm making the assumption that your comment was based on this article, and not just some random comment with no connection). That's a weird judgement to pass - you must think pretty much no where is a lovely place to live, as I'm sure pretty much everywhere else in the world has had incidents like this.

What could've happened to make her lose her temper so much that she ended up killing her partner? That's one hell of a rage. Another woman perhaps? It must have been a considerable blow to his head as well for him not to wake up and fight back or was he knocked out by alcohol?

I thought it was "110" or does it change by area? Or was she still plastered?

110 is the police. 119 is an ambulance.

No I don't. All I know is that this site often has stories of crimes that happen in Saitama. I can't infer anything about the real status of things in Saitama based on that.
