Police in Sapporo have arrested a 69-year-old woman for attempting to insert a sewing needle in bread in a store at a shopping center on Wednesday -- the second such incident at the same store in three days.
According to police, security camera footage showed the entire scene, Fuji TV reported. In the footage, the woman, who was wearing a white hat, is seen touching bread and picking it up at around 11 a.m. in the food department of the shopping center chain Super Ace in Higashi Ward. Store security staff caught her in the act and detained her until police arrived. The woman had a sewing needle in her hand when she was detained, store officials said.
Police said the woman, who has been charged with obstruction of business, has admitted to the charge and was quoted as saying that a feeling of frustration motivated her to do it.
On June 19, a sewing needle was discovered inside a hamburger at the same store and police are questioning her about that incident as well.

Frustrated about WHAT? At your age I don't think it's about sex, so what? This woman has problems and thankfully she got caught. Now I just hope no one tries to copy-cat what she did.

introduce her to some clothing alteration services.

This is quite shocking, what if a child ate the bread and cut up their insides? This seems to me on a similar level to a terrorist attack due to its indiscriminate nature and sole purpose to cause trauma and pain. Remove her from the streets permanently I think

I don't understand why somebody would do such a thing. What if a child but into that bread. She should be jailed for a good while.

The senior citizens crime wave continues!
She says she did out of frustration? I'm afraid her mental and emotional issues go much deeper than just simple frustration.

House arrest.

My focus is on the store staff who immediately acted and stopped her from possibly harming someone. Well done on their part.

Common method of blackmail here, but in this case she simply sounds batty.
