Woman arrested over husband's murder in Hiroshima
HIROSHIMA —
Police said Wednesday they have arrested a 44-year-old woman on suspicion of fatally stabbing her husband at their apartment in Hiroshima on Tuesday night.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Kanako Sugimoto, lived with her husband Akira, 40, in Saeki Ward. Police say that Kanako called 110 at 5:50 p.m. and told the operator that she had stabbed her husband, TV Asahi reported.
When police arrived at the apartment, they found Akira lying on his back in the bedroom, dead from several stab wounds to his chest. A bloodied knife was near the body, TV Asahi reported.
Police said that Kanako has so far given no motive for the murder. She was quoted as saying that “I wanted to kill him.”

She forgot the rest of the statement. "I was drunk and don't remember, Sorry".

She might've gone through many years of abuse. Most Japanese women tend to keep quiet and not tell anybody because of shame. Domestic abuse often escalates from threats and verbal abuse to violence. The emotional and psychological consequences of domestic abuse are also severe. Emotionally abusive relationships can destroy your self-worth, lead to anxiety and depression, and make you feel helpless and alone. No one should have to endure this kind of pain and your first step to breaking free is recognizing that your situation is abusive. Once you acknowledge the reality of the abusive situation, then you can get the help you need. The most telling sign is fear of your partner. If you feel like you have to walk on eggshells around your partner, constantly watching what you say and do in order to avoid a blow-up—chances are your relationship is unhealthy and abusive. Other signs that you may be in an abusive relationship include a partner who belittles you or tries to control you, and feelings of self-loathing, helplessness, and desperation.

There seems to be an unwritten rule that we have to take the woman's side, whether she's the perpetrator or victim. Maybe this Kanako woman was simply bat shit crazy.

Kanako^s brief confession to Police , "I wanted to kill him", so far, no other motive or explanation. Several stab wounds ensured her husbands demise. This lady is going to need a very good Lawyer.

I doubt this husband was killed just for no reason, he must have been really, really bad to his wife, and living in a crummy apartment?? Apartments here in Japan are a living HELL! Noisy, no privacy, that alone may have made her kill this husband, right??

Perhaps we could wait for more details before painting him as a wife beater? For all we know, he refused to buy her a brand new designer handbag so she killed him. Why do people on here jump to so many conclusion on such little info?

Not necessarily. Maybe she was another one of those shallow and selfish j-wifes who expect everything without doing anything themselves. If they don't get what they expect/demand, they go crazy and make the husbands life a constant misery.
And yes, I unfortunately have first hand experience.

The motive was that she wanted to kill him. She has given no further motive.

spfj: "She might've gone through many years of abuse."
And she might not have. Perhaps she was just, for whatever reason, extremely unhappy with her situation and chose to get out of it like this. Whatever the case, the number of stabbings of late seem to be on the rise, and with many stating no reasons for doing so.
