Man arrested over death of mother in Oita home
OITA —
Police said Saturday they have arrested a 39-year-old man over the death of his 58-year-old mother who was found dead in her home in Oita on Thursday night.
Police said the woman, who has been named as Yasuko Hiramatsu, was found by her younger son, 37, who returned home after spending several days away. She was lying face-up in bed, having apparently bled from the mouth, according to TV Asahi.
Police said the door was locked when Hiramatsu’s son arrived, and the state of her clothing and of the room did not offer any clues. However, police said there were marks on the victim’s body consistent with her having been pinned or held down, TV Asahi reported.
An autopsy on Friday revealed that Hiramatsu had been strangled to death sometime on Tuesday.
Hiramatsu’s oldest son, who is unemployed and has no fixed abode, was arrested early Saturday in Beppu City. He has confessed to killing his mother, police said. He was quoted as saying that there had been trouble between he and his mother for some time, TV Asahi reported.

The disappearance of that little girl in Oita still remains unsolved. A week or so before her abduction an eldery person was murdered and the day before her abduction a 35 yr old woman just disappeared. All in one town. All unsolved cases. Don't know what town this happened in but Oita is looking like a nasty place at the moment. There was that murder in beppu too.

How long since the lady died before being discovered by her son? Report is unconclusive.

Good to clarify hachikoreloaded. I'm sure the elder son has his story, too. It's a sad story all in all.
