The name of her boyfriend would help. I assume the reason the police released this info was for help in locating the boyfriend. As clairvoyant as some of us are, a name would be most helpful.

This is what happens when law-abiding citizens are forbidden from protecting their own lives with firearms. Had she been armed, it's very possible the assailant would be the only dead one in this sad story.

Another woman goes to the police for help and winds up dead because the police / courts give out warnings and small fines, to dumb violent self centred types who really need to have mental help for the mummy issues they have.

Although her ex is a likely suspect, she also could have gotten mixed up some other POS or her could have paid someone off.

This comment beggars belief – she had previously been assaulted and moved to a different prefecture to escape him, before being shot in head several times - and you suggest it was her fault for a cold breakup?

Something might be more than just a simple breakup... And her "former" boyfriend at that...or ex.

What happened to her "current", what did he know? The man was too volatile, and we can say this behavior is close to a what...

The girl probably knew his past history, and being shot several times... a man that is possessive in nature might, but it won't be that much of several shots... the question here is what does the criminal felt like when shooting her several times?

The police knew this much, and it would eventually lead to this... and they're telling him: You're getting a fine? Don't tell me that they're gonna have missing links or whatever for what this is...

When the police are contacted about a problem as this and they do nothing to actually stop them from doing this, those very same police officers should be fired and charged with aiding a murder.

If they were charged for it as the person doing it then the police will change their ways of just looking at a woman as just that 'a woman'.

The facts are not here all you know is she was shot and killed by someone and there is someone out there with a "HOT GUN" possibly a throw away now and if any idiot picks it up and decides to keep it for him or HERSELF would be tied to that crime! As far as the BF not being found I would guess he knows the J-COPS are looking for him so he probably has the gun if he did it waiting to OFF HIMSELF if he has not done that already! If she was shot at 3pm in the afternoon guns make loud noises someone heard and saw something!! For this guy to off her like this IF HE DID he is a cold blooded calculated killer and she had to be one cold hearted person because she knew what she was dealing with. Thats why she moved away!!! In Japan you can run but you can't hide!

the article didn't mention how he found her. despite the fact that she was scared enough to, and smart enough to, pick up and relocate, he found her= probably someone screwed up bad somewhere, cops or civil servants releasing private info.

that needs to be made public, so that people can be more aware of how important it is to keep private info secret...

The article does not give a whole lot of details as to prove the shooter is 100% the ex. If it is, the person/detective agency that may have told him her whereabouts needs to face consequences too.

So as I see it the ex boyfriend is a person of interest. They are looking for the ex boyfriend because of the history. I am speculating but perhaps he didn't do it!

Educator60 It seems the ex has now been found dead in Tochigi. This seems to be new information nobody else has. Was there more detail such as was he shot with the same gun?

The body in Tochigi was found only a couple of hours ago. It hasn't been officially identified. Weapons tests will take longer.

If the recently found body was her ex, then it may be the end of the story. If so, he should have skipped the murder and just offed himself instead.

Yet again the Japanese cops do nothing and another victim is created.

I read in regular news they still haven't found the ex, nor the gun, and that when the woman moved, she was actually advised to move by the police. good for them on that day.

the cops also said she had made a request that her new location be kept private and so are investigating if her info was somehow leaked.

the b/f was arrested last fall and held for a month after climbing into her car and assaulting her. that's when the cops advised her to move.

So they give out the name of the ex-boyfriend, the ex-boyfriend gets hounded to the point of committing suicide, and it then is revealed that the perpetrator was someone else. <-- THIS is why they haven't given his name out. Until they have something more than an incident last November to tie him to the murder, I doubt the police will give out his name.
