A woman was found stabbed to death in her home in Omihachiman, Shiga Prefecture, police said Wednesday.
The woman has been identified as Tomoko Shimizu, 52. TBS quoted police as saying she had been stabbed 10 times in the abdomen. The body was found on Tuesday morning, and the front door was unlocked, police said.
According to police, Shimizu had been employed as manager of a nearby restaurant and was last seen at around 3 p.m. on Monday.
Police said the victim's cell phone, wallet and valuables were not taken.
Shimizu lived with her husband who is currently hospitalized.

I used to live in Omihachiman. I'm shocked to read about this because it is (was) a very safe place. So sorry for her husband and family. Tragic.

It is not clear. TBS states that the husband is currently hospitalized. Had he been in the hospital before Tuesday or was he hospitalized because he was attacked also?
