    to timon

you don't sympatize for prostitute?? did you never get to kabakurua??

it's right than see like that forcing someone to prostitute is ridiculous. what's her option? explain please.

but you know when girls like someone really they can do a lot of stupid things.

    Facts:

He made her work in the sex industry under the illusion they were some kind of couple (chances are that he has Yak connections).

    He physically abused her.

He ended the relationship once he got bored with it.

He got what he deserved in my book.

with you North. she may have felt it was the only way out for her. she dies or him. she was the survivor, he underestimated her. Kudos for her. she may have seen herself dead with this guy. she did what it took to survive. God knows the cops couldnt and wouldnt have helped her.

The act of killing was cruel and brutal; says the judge. We don't know enough about the case and what the defense has argued, but forcing a woman into prostitution, by whatever means, but likely intimidation, violence and brutality, is as cruel and brutal as the stabbing. 10 years is a very harsh, out of proportion sentence in the light of the circumstances, not the least one the fact that it was not premeditated murder.

Maybe the punishment for a man who forces a girlfriend into working in the sex industry (we call them pimps in the UK) along with physical abuse, should be a stabbing ? Sounds fair to me.

what do you mean "what's her option?" breaking up with the guy (actually he just did that, giving her "freedom"), finding a decent job(if she really hated the sex industry, which I doubt), finding a papa, asking police for protection if the guy stalks or threatens her and so on. please note that the guy was her boyfriend, so I can only assume a great deal of consensus from her part

I repeat: I don't agree with the scum, but that doesn't make my sympathize with the murderer.

and I have a question for you: how many prostitutes do you know who say "yes, I love my job and I chose this career when I turned 20 out of passion"? of course all of them say "X forced me", where X can be a number of things. so I'm saying that believing only her version of the story may be misleading. it may be very well that she loved the scum and she got crazy when he dumped her, and no she's coming up with the abuse story to get out cheaper. it may be...

    timeon,

You must have led a very protected life. Or you are just gagging for an argument.

Ask the police for protection ? In Japan ? When the sex industry is run by the yakuza ?

The boyfriend, dead boyfriend, used her love to place her in the sex business. And a man is normally a lot stronger physically than a woman. And he beat her.

In fact, why am I even bothering to respond to you..

  • northlondon at 06:55 PM JST - 2nd May

the crime was committed on impulse, the judge added.

So why the heavy sentence ? The judge must have had sufficient evidence in court to have made that kind of statement about an impulse attack.

admitting that Kotake had treated her poorly by forcing her to work at a sex-related establishment and abusing her physically

Again, the judge must have had sufficient evidence in court to comment that she was forced to work in the sex business and that he beat her. So why 10 years ?

  • Triumvere at 11:03 PM JST - 2nd May

You consider 10 years a heavy sentence for the taking of human life?

She's not in the same position as a "battered wife" who kills to prevent inevitable future abuse. She can't be constured as "defending herself", but rather she killed for "revenge" after being wronged.

You can't set up a legal system based on "he had it coming", even if he actually did...

I will argue her case again on the speculation that the dead scum that forced her to work in a Yakuza industry probably threatened her and all close to her with retribution if she left him. Lets remember, the Yakuza and dogs that follow them are some of the sickest animals in this society. she went to an extreme measure sure, but what was the alternative? her beaten, broken, dismembered body being found bobbing up and down in Tokyo harbor? Of course I think the sentence is fair but I wonder what he would have got if he killed a her as a prostitute? Hmmmm, the judge would have said "she had it coming for sleeping with other men for money, thus making her boyfriends suffering intolerable. 4 years should suffice".

What was cruel and Brutal was being forced to work in the Sex Industry. I guess she should be punished for that right. Is a good thing the scum is dead. One of the rare examples I've seen where the punishment is actually too harsh. Normally its the opposite.

  • keshii at 01:03 PM JST - 3rd May

I find it hard to believe that she was willing to accept being forced to work in the sex industry, but not willing to accept her boyfriend breaking up with her.

  • presto345 at 07:19 PM JST - 3rd May

I find it hard to believe that she was willing to accept being forced to work in the sex industry, but not willing to accept her boyfriend breaking up with her. Huh?? These women oblige their tormentors wishes precisely because they trust them to be their protectors and NOT breaking up with them.

I can't believe anyone is commenting on these two losers. If you knew the people, you'd probably think whoopdeedo and never think about them again.

    To each his own.
