Woman's body discovered floating in Yokohama river

YOKOHAMA —

The body of a woman was found wrapped in a bag and floating in the Tsurumi River in Yokohama on Monday afternoon.

According to police, a man walking along the river at around 3:30 p.m. spotted what looked to be something human-shaped floating in the water and called police. Authorities arrived to find a woman’s body inside with her head sticking out the opening of the bag, which had a weight attached. The body was nude and several days appear to have passed since the woman was killed, police said.

Again? Jesus... It was only 5 days ago when the body of a woman was found wrapped up in a plastic tarp in Shizuoka. The frequency of these crimes is really creepy.

Another body found and we will never hear about the case again. Wish we could get more info rather than just vague articles that never have any type of follow up. Instead we will get another vague article within the next few days.

I went canoeing in that river...

I agree with ii1980 - why do we never hear any follow up? Is it just that the cases never get solved?

Why is it that the japanese people you talk too never know anything about these news stories?????

That's because they are constantly told that violence only happens in the U.S. and are actively encouraged to dismiss bad things that happen in Japan.

Again?? Didn't we just hear about a body a few days ago, and another just before that? not to mention the dozens of body PARTS that are washing up here and there.

As we all have become accustomed to over the past few years here.... more than likely its an enraged lover, stalker, husband, BF, Yak or pimp.... This sorta stuff will never cross our paths and most of these cases just collect dust at the station. Another day, another body and Japan is still the the safest for a gaijin walking down the street. (NOVA murder excluded) Kids and women seem to be the majority of victims here...

I love that someone said "The frequency of these crimes is really creepy." REALLY??? have you ever bothered to look up the murder rate of japan? The murder rate of Detroit is higher than the entire country of Japan. One American city VS the entire country of Japan. You have to realize in Japan these are high profile cases. Thats why you hear about them. In the USA these are DAILY!!! DAILY!!!!!!! people stopped reading about every murder in the USA so they stopped writing about them. In japan its HUGE news so they make it huge news. Put things in perspective before you paint this doomsday Japan society is going down the toilet picture for everyone.

Moderator: Comparisons with other countries are not relevant to this discussion.

Yeah, and that's what makes this really creepy. 20 years ago this type of stuff wasn't happening in Japan. Now there are all sorts of grotesque crimes coming to light. Maybe it's the access to the web? Dunno. But I expect this type of thing in Detroit. In Japan I don't.

I would like to see some stories about the perps being caught. If they exist.

kujiranikusuki-- I think you need to calm down. The frequency makes them no less disturbing. Just because it doesn't happen as often as elsewhere (that we know of), that's not award winning or something. A woman is still dead, this is a sad story, and I hope they find the person who did it.
