The scum that did this will strike again, no risk about that. Unless the J-Cops manage to catch him soon. Sadly, I have no faith in them being able to do that. I hope some leads will surface soon.
RIP to Miyako - this evil man has robbed your loved ones of a future lifetime of memories.
ohh my. My mother (who is actually in Hamada at the moment visiting family) JUST told me about this over the phone and I quickly found this website trying to out find more information about what happened to the poor girl. Hamada is a quite rural town where there is hardly any crime...I find it so shocking that something which wouldn't be out of place on CSI could happen there!
As if this were not already horrific enough, so deeply tragic, this idiot police force just don't seem to have a clue. I wasn't there, so I cannot be absolutely certain but on the many television reports of the search there wasn't a single dog used in the hunt for clues. Just swarms of keystones poking around with sticks. Surely they have the wits to know just how useful dogs can be in searches like this?
If she went missing on October 26th, then why weren't they looking for her then? Why only now are they investigating where she went after work and her contacts etc.? I don't know which is more horrifying... the fact that she was killed and beheaded or that the police weren't interested in finding her when they had a chance of finding her alive!
I agree with the Sarge: the person who did this deserves the death penalty. Things like this make me glad my wife and I are moving away form Japan in a few months....

Don't assume they weren't; it's a Kyodo article and they aren't so good on details and phrasing.
There was the picture of this poor girl a few days ago when she was reported missing. She had such a smiling, happy face. Horrible, horrible.

"this evil man"
We don't know who did this - it might be a woman, for all we know.
Sarge at 10:31 PM JST - 7th November
Just realized that in my previous post I also assumed the killer is a man.

Sarge:
Statistically extremely unlikely. Women typically commit different types of crimes.
I agree that unless they manage to catch this monster soon, there will be more of this.

Cut her head off! Good lord. Harsh indeed. Shocking way to go. I hope she was dead before her head was removed.

They mentioned on the news this evening that her father identified her. That poor man will be having nightmares for the rest of his life.
Absolutely horrendous.

They can't find Ichihashi either and they know generally what he looks like. Don't hold your breath on them finding this killer too soon.

The person who did this deserves torture and a very painful long death.
They obviously are playing a game by leaving the head there in the mountain. They wanted it to be found.

The scum probably did strike before this.
