Y18 million stolen from bank worker in Chiba
CHIBA —
Two men on Monday assaulted a bank employee, who was collecting money at a DVD shop, and stole 18 million yen in Chiba City.
According to police investigations, the robbers assaulted the 28-year-old bank employee around 11:30 a.m. Police said the bank employee was carrying a bag containing money which he had collected at pachinko parlors the same day. The robbers fled the site by motorbike after throwing white powder on the bank employee.

The same story all over again! Didn't people of Japan learned yet, that carrying money you are heading into the most dangerous situation. A security armed guards should be employed to collect money from all business people for transfer to bank. To me this is stupidity and is an issue in Japan that should be examined by the lawmakers. 'Use your brains not your kidneys.'

This should be in the entertainment section. What the heck do they expect carrying around that sort of amount of money! They probably also made the pick ups on a regular schedule and carried the money in a bag with 'steal me!' written on it.

Weigh the cost of that against the losses due to robberies. Factor in the fact that the money is probably insured. Your idea may not meet the cost-benefit analysis.
Further, consider that in places where they do have such security precautions, that these kinds of robberies still happen, only bullets get hurled instead of white powder.
And also consider how often those guys get caught without any extra violence.
My suggestion would be to just make sure the employees are dropping off the money more regularly.

Yeah,suit 'em rite for being robbed. Those bank employee were robbed without any precaution measures..damn fools. People work hard for those money and there they are! Collecting workers & bosses' hard earned cash without any protection.

Disillusioned... the bag didn't say "steal me"it was actually one of those sacks with the dollar sign on it. They thought the "$" instead of the "¥" on the side would fool just about anybody. Oh well, next plan... a horse drawn carriage with a "no bandits" sign attached to the rear.

Loss through occasional robbery is less than hiring security guards or remitting money through banks. money-laundring is a big headache for U.N but a big business in Japan.

Again Japan not living in the present. Somehow we are still stuck in the 1800's. Try and change yen to dollar at the bank. It will pass to three hands before approved. Then handed down to the same three people then to you. Japan you amuse me so much but I am sick of it. Good for you your money got stolen. Yakuza a bit slow therefore a little take down. Oh, by the way this will happend more often. The "chim-pira" is on the move.
