So the old boy sat waiting from 2003 until now, only to turn the money over! Helllll no!!

Note to self: Move into an old apt and check for loose floor boards and check all ceiling access panels. Find nothing, move again, find cash, keep it and then move again.

Note to myself: start a cult. (sefuredo, for example)

How many other Tokyo roof cavities have got bundles of Yen stashed up there? I'll bet that after this news item there will be a surge of accident reports - people fallen off ladders or rickety boxes as they try to peep up into roof manhole XD

indicating that the money may constitute hidden assets.

Okinawamike and jackseoul, my sentiments exactly. Although instead of current addresses of cult members I would prefer former addresses and yakuza members as well. This is because I don’t intend to be one of their victims, you know. And edowave, I intend to check mine when I visit Japan. In this case, I agree with the expression "finder's keepers."

I can't remember the last time I read such a short article and then so many hillarious posts in a row. thanks for the laugh.

On my 1st day of moving into my place, I found a bundle of Porn mags hidden away under the floorboards - Japanese houses have a hole in the ground called ... something or other ... in which odd items are placed, and these were I rekon them. Needless to say upon dicsovery when I asked the removals team if they'd help taking away such "junk" they were seemingly, more than Happy to help.

In short... one Man's junk, another Man's pasture/pleasure/etc...
