hope he gets out of music, goes to university and has a normal life. From what I've seen, very few child prodigies find happiness or fulfillment. Look at Sue Lyons, or Tommy Rettig. Or poor Michael Jackson.
better not. look at the majority percentage who don't screw up their life and disappear up their own arse. 'poor' Jackson? eh?
Go Yuto! I really hope he's an inspiration for more young kids to learn to play music. Playing music helps children become smarter. The world really needs more really smart kids (and adults).
not to be a hater, but he can barely hold the guitar, and he's out of tune half the time. Would like to see a little more speed in his hands. Definitely on the way to become a serious powerhouse though.
I saw the video when he met Ozzy, and i thought they would jam, but they went to commercial hahaaaaaaaaaaaa. If Ozzy jammed with the kid it might have been an amazing sight. Randy Rhoades left some big shoes to fill.

Actually they did at Blizzfest in Anaheim, I believe? I don't know if it's still on youtube but there is a moment where Ozzie lifts up Yuta up in the air like he uses to do with Randy Rhoads.
Rock on, dude! This kid is technically better than Hendrix, I swear - Ive seen him on youtube and he ROCKS! He also lives the rock and roll ethos and lifestyle...Roll over sad dinosaurs like Randy Rhodes, Eric Crap-ton, Kirk Hammett, Joey Satriani...Yuto-Kun is better than all of you and is THE Rock God!

Well not fair since you haven't seen Hendrix on You Tube. (OK, look him up now). Hendrix will be remembered as the guy who invented feedback and used it to musical effect.
Haven't seen this little tyke, but someone should have advised him on a better choice of guitar. Good on him if he has talent.
He started at 3, and I didn't start playing guitar until I was 15... and I grew up in Nashville. (I did play violin for a few years before that though.)
When I was touring in a blues/rock band a few years back, there always seemed to be a kid playing nearby or opening for us who was supposed to be "the next Stevie Ray Vaughan". Sometimes we would check out his show and, sure enough, he would be playing all SRV songs (SRV's versions of other people's songs), and if he did have an original song, the solo was bits of SRV solos strung together.
And the "stage Dad" was always a hound, promoting his son's "greatness" in every sentence, and the kid would always have a mountain-sized ego and treat everyone as though they were jealous of him. These blues prodigies and their star-struck parents never realize that everyone starts by playing the blues, because anybody can play the blues.
Besides, nothing against SRV, but I was always more of a Rory Gallagher fan myself.
I hope this kid doesn't go the usual over-exposed prodigy route, and gets to realize his potential. Make sure to show him pictures of Yngwie Malmsteen during his "fat Elvis" years to warn him of the dangers of heavy drinking. That'll scare him!

And he does it all with little 9-year-old fingers handling that big grown-up sized guitar. Amazing!
