Its pretty pathetic that the Chinese leadership is scared of some TV shows.

I will say this though: NCIS is chock full of American pro-military, pro-war propaganda. I would personally object to having my children watch it. And if they did, I would have a talk with them about each episode to point out the salesmanship of war and soldiering.

NCIS rocks!

Concepts that are a threat to the authoritarian Chinese dictatorship must not be allowed. Next thing you know Chinese people will stat thinking they deserve human rights or that the government is suppose to serve the people.

Well, it has been trend in USA TV series to depict Chinese as brainless terrorists and/or criminal groups. have you watched Hawaii Five O? Ironside? How about Japan? Japan get mentioned in scenes that has to explain where cheap product come from (out-ot-dated) "This towel? it is from Japan" etc comically. It is easier to be laughed as cheap product makers than hated as terrorists. I guess China meant NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles. Very popular CBS series on Tuesday, Maybe China does not like because CBS is owned ny Sony Entertainments Television?

I really do not care as, in my opinion, all most all TV programs from America are as worthless as teats on a boar hog.

toshiko CBS own by Sony?

Where did you get that from?

Read:

CBS Corporation is an American mass media corporation focused on commercial broadcasting, publishing, billboards and television production, with most of its operations in the United States. The president and chief executive of the company is Leslie Moonves. Sumner Redstone, owner of National Amusements, is CBS's majority shareholder and serves as executive chairman. The company began trading on the NYSE on January 3, 2006. Until then, the corporation was known as Viacom, and is the legal successor to said company.[2] A new company, keeping the Viacom name was spun off from CBS. CBS, not Viacom, retains control of over-the-air television (CBS, CW) and radio broadcasting, TV production and distribution, publishing, pay-cable, basic cable (TVGN), and recording formerly owned by the larger company. CBS has its headquarters in CBS Building, Midtown, Manhattan, New York City, New York, United States.

Where does it say anything about sony?

Please!!

And who is CBS Corp parent Company?

Here is the info:

National Amusements, Inc. is an American privately owned theater company based in Dedham, Massachusetts, United States. The company was founded in 1936 as the Northeast Theatre Corporation by Michael Redstone.

National Amusements is now owned by Michael Redstone's son, Sumner Redstone, who holds 80% of the company, and Sumner's daughter, Shari Redstone, who owns the remaining 20%. Through National Amusements, the Redstones control both the CBS Corporation (owner of CBS) and Viacom (owner of Paramount Pictures) through supervoting shares.

Wiki is your best friend before you post stuff like that.

@The_True"

In 1988, the CBS Records Group, including the Columbia Records unit, was acquired by Sony, which re-christened the parent division Sony Music Entertainment in 1991. As Sony only had a temporary license on the CBS Records name, it then acquired the rights to the Columbia trademarks (Columbia Graphophone) outside the U.S., Canada, Spain (trademark owned by BMG) and Japan (Nippon Columbia) from EMI, which generally had not been used by them since the early 1970s. The CBS Records label was officially renamed Columbia Records on January 1, 1991

The profile for CBS is here: http://www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/companyProfile?symbol=CBS

And no the TV part is not owned by Sony, in fact it is one of its competitors...

If you are looking for a connection between CBS and Japan, this part closer:

In September 2011, the Company entered into a non-exclusive licensing agreement with Hulu Japan LLC for streaming various programs from the Company's library on Hulu's subscription video-on-demand service in Japan.

But I don't see your connection Toshiko.

As for the article, let's say these programs are kind of "bold" for Chinese mind, so the onlu thing that makes sense is for the government to ban these in order to not "contaminate" Chinese minds that can divert them for the Chinese mainstream... I'd say it is silly to ban these shows, thye would find their way...

Thank you, I watch CBS programs and after Jeopardy,, wheel of fortunes and many shows, the last screens come with large Sony, next line with picture, next line with entertainment. So, I rushed up, Anyway, the real news in USA is way worse than NCIS storylines. So, I did not think much about contents of shows but China did not want its children exposed to USA popular shows.
