Actress Chiaki Kuriyama gets buzz-cut for stage play

Actress Chiaki Kuriyama, 23, has gotten a buzz-cut to play the role of 12th century Japanese priest Dogen for her latest stage drama. Kuriyama, who is famous for her long hair, said, “I have wanted to try this hairstyle for a long time. I think it goes well with me.”

The play “Dogen no Boken” (Dogen’s Adventure) will open at Bunkamura Theater Cocoon in Shibuya from July 7 to 28.

nah, she has made about 20 movies since Kill Bill, not any that you heard about though since they were Japanese. she's obviously very talented dont you think?

I believe she cut her hair so she could wear that fake covering. Otherwise the fake covering would stick up about nine feet above her head.

That said, in samurai dramas does anyone else notice the bad fake sideburns? Or are the fake sideburns on purpose (they must be).

He may have heard of Battle Royale or Shikoku. She had good parts in both of those. I've heard Hollywood is going to remake Battle Royale. That ought to be a real train wreck.
