TOKYO —

Actress Maki Horikita, 19, will appear in Fuji TV’s new drama “Innocent Love” starting from October.

The story follows Horikita’s character whose parents are killed and her brother is arrested for the crime. She falls in love with a man whilst struggling to come to terms with the difficulties she encounters stemming from her parents murder and the accusations levelled against her brother.

In an official comment, Horikita said, “I will turn 20 in October. I hope this drama heralds the opening of a new chapter in my life and career.”

If only two of them would appear...arienai!!

    Anyway,

Ah yes some difficulties might arise, if one is not completely indifferent to one's family members.

Anyone want to explain what this means? Two of what? And why is it arienai?

Ossan, I'll field this one. It was in reference to a commercial she's in (haven't noticed what the product is however). At any rate, a teenage boy is in front of the fan on a hot summer day and two Maki's come in with icecreams and ask him to hug her. Flash back to reality and his mum is holding up two icecreams. It's probably an icecream commercial. That or a government-sponsored advertisement encouraging people to sweat like they've never sweated before in one of Japan's beautiful seasons.

    OK thanks.

"Arienai" means @it won't happen@, i.e., you'll never see her ice cream cones -- not unless she gets a news anchor job and turns 30, anyway.

Isn't it time she had an affair? It seems that's what "talent" do in Japan to boost their ratings...

Just more wasted time on the tube. Gives me another reason to fire up my DVD player or 360. I got to finish that Prison break season three anyway.

I have a feeling that I'm the only one who doesn't find her the least bit attractive.
