Izumi Mori, left, and Nao Matsushita

TOKYO —
Actress-pianist Nao Matsushita, 23, and model Izumi Mori, 25, on Wednesday introduced Sony’s new VAIO laptop computers. Matsushita, who created music for the ad, said, “I tried to think of instrumental music that would match the image of the product. Since I like words ‘feel’, ‘future’ and ‘forte,’ I named the music score ‘f.’”
Mori also said, “With the new VAIO, I can make a short movie easily. It’s very light and handy. The keyboard doesn’t break my long nails.”

"The keyboard doesnt break my long nails" Quote of the century so far, Id say, and just about sums up hedonistic, selfish Japanese society these days.

Just because a woman does not want to break her nails, it doesn't make her whole society hedonistic and selfish. In fact, I don't think it makes the person themselves hedonistic or selfish. There is nothing wrong with taking pride in one's appearance.
That being said, I am confused as to how this keyboard would prevent fingernails from being broken. Maybe the computer types on its own?

Mori Izumi. So very pretty with absolutely nothing going on upstairs. Such a shame...

they can bring Miss Universe to pose naked with a Vaio on her lap, I won't give up my MacBook. Windows just sucks, and Win on a Vaio is horrible (my wife threw it after 2 years)

Sarge...that may be true but money isn't everything.
Pathetic comments by the two women; I wonder how much they really know about computers. I would say not much if anything!!!

Mori: It's very light and handy."
Pathetic comments? Jeez, I'd hate to hear what you'd say about... never mind.

My 8-year-old Sony Vaio is still going strong - primarily only used for surfing the net and listening to internet radio in the living room now, so that I don't have to be antisocial and withdraw to the study to look something up, but it still gets employed on occasion for putting together powerpoint presentations.
I rather like the look of the new Mac laptops, but I don't want to have to get used to a new system, so I'd stick with Windows (not necessarily a Vaio) if I were in the market for a new laptop.

I had a sony notebook once and everything on it broke, I was lucky i got the extended warranty. The keyboard, motherboard, display, floppy (a few years back), AC Adapter, hard disk, modem jack. a japanese otaku guy i knew told me that no one who knows their stuff buys Sony because of their "SONY timer": they design the PC's to break after a year.

My first laptop is a Sony VAIO and I've been using it for more than 2 years now. I'm playing RTS games there, watching movies and TV series and for surfing the Net. The only downside I've seen from my VAIO is its battery life is really short, can't finish a two-hour movie on it. Also, I'm more interested in the models here than the laptops they're carrying. ;-)

The actress is taller and more modelesque than the model...the snake-skin style vaio covers are pretty attractive, but wouldn't swap my Mac for sony...

Sony computers are overpriced and bloated. I have a Dell laptop that was 2 years older than the Sony laptop that I recently purchased and the Dell was twice as faster than the Sony. What happen to Sony? I remember when growing up 10 years ago, Sony was the name brand "to have" in electronics. Now, it's like a second tier brand name.
