Actress Saki Fukuda introduces 'mini karaoke' product

TOKYO —

Actress Saki Fukuda, 18, was on hand Thursday to introduce toymaker Takara Tomy’s mini karaoke product “Hi-kara,” together with celebrities Shiori Kutsuna, 15, and Emi Takei, 14. The three will appear in a TV commercial, forming an idol group and singing the 15-year-old pop song “Not Come Out The Ace Of Heart” by the group Candies.

Fukuda said, “I know Candies but didn’t know this song. When I told my mother about this, she sang the song for me.” Kutsuna said, “I think this is the last time for me to wear such a (idol-like) costume, which is very exciting.” Takei also said, “The stage (made for the TV commercial production) was very professional which made me feel like I’m a true idol.”

The new product will be released on Oct 18.

Nothing about what this mini karaoke does?

Can you sing on the train with it? Cause I do that already with my i-pod.

Kutsuna said, “I think this is the last time for me to wear such a (idol-like) costume, which is very exciting.”

    1. Why is this the last time to wear an idol like costume? - ever heard of cos-play?
    2. The costume is exciting or wearing it is exciting?- I guess this depends on the observer.

Ha, ha, ha! Did they really have to translate the title of The Candies' song? It is called "HA-TO NO EISU GA DETTE KONAI". Unless there is an English version on this "Hi Kara" machine. They should be designing a machine like this, but a little bigger, for the elderly people of Japan. Could make a lot of money. Of course they would have to fill it up with Misora Hibari and ENKA...

Are they really (from left) 15, 18, and 14 years old? Kids grow up quickly these days...

And what does the product do, exactly?

Surely you didn't read a product launch story expecting to hear about the launch of the product! People want to hear the important things, like who the girls have as a boyfriend (apparently).

These girls are too old. Get some younger ones. Nyuk nyuk nyuk!
