Actress Sayuri Kokusho celebrates Y1 mil lottery win

TOKYO —

Actress Sayuri Kokusho, 43, reported on her blog this week that she took home a cool 1 million yen after winning the Japanese lottery recently. “You’re never going to believe this but I actually won the lottery!” she exclaimed in the entry.

Coincidentally, the actress posed for a photo with comedy duo, London Boots, that was tinted gold last month. In her blog, she said that the photo may have foreshadowed the win.

Why does everyone assume she is rich? She's not eikaiwa-sensei poor but she may not be rich, either.

I think we should make her "Best Lotteryist" for 2010 and shower her with expensive gifts.

The lottery in this country is a joke the top prize is a pissy small amount compared to what can be one in 1st division in other countries. 1 Mill yen isnt a big win by any means so dunno why she is spouting on about it.

I'd be pretty happy with a cool tax free million yen right now. Might actually go home for Christmas for a change. Congratulations to her.

The Lottery = a tax on people who don't understand math.

She's actually not that rich. She's working hard to remain in the entertainment industry, because her only real claim to fame is having been a member of the Onyanko Club. Not necessarily a talented member, but a member nonetheless. Lucky to have won the lottery. I'm still waiting...

How lame. What about the little people ? It's just like the game and talent shows here. Let's give tons of money to rich and famous people, they deserve it !

Isnt anybody else a little baffled by the incorrect grammar,"Youve never going to believe this..."? This should actually read, "YOURE never going to believe this..." and Im not an English teacher!! I`m rather surprised she said anything about winning a lottery prize. Personally, I think that was poor judgement. Remember the entertainment industry...at least everybody is humming about WHAT SHE SAID. There could be some method to her maddness.

Takarakuji should pay her an added bonus for her endorsement of their lottery, which is certain to sucker more people into buying tickets.
