Actress Shihori Kanjiya appears in maid outfit to promote new TV drama

TOKYO —

Actress Shihori Kanjiya, 22, was out and about in a maid’s outfit Monday to promote her new TV drama “Aren’t you a criminal?” She plays the role of a private detective who wishes to be a mystery author. She goes undercover as a cosplayer each week for research.

Asked about the maid fashion, she said, “I feel cutesy poo in this dress. I’d like to try some other roles in costumes like geisha or a convenience store clerk.”

The new drama will air on April 11 on the TV Asahi network.

“Aren’t you a criminal?”.......Please don't tell me she's asking this of a foreigner? “I feel cutesy poo in this dress." Does that mean she's related to all the undesirable train passengers on yesterday's page? Cosplay......I guess that's psychiatric therapy in Japanese.

That photo doesn't flatter her! She looks worse than these two guys in drag in yesterday's photo of the day.

Why would you dress in cosplay to catch criminals? I don't think most yakuza are into otaku stuff.

"I feel cutesy poo in this dress" -- an apt description of the thinking a huge percentage of J-gals if there ever was one. Kawaii rules.

    “Aren’t you a criminal?”

No, but whoever took that photo is.

Haha! Me too! I thought it was another degenerate J-queen in drag when I saw the photo. She looks rougher then grade 3 sandpaper...

Why are Japanese so obsessed with uniforms and costumes?

This is not a maid outfit. This is a "typo" that needs to be corrected.

Her dress (jumperskirt), blouse, and headbow all appear to be from Baby, the Stars Shine Bright. This is a popular Lolita brand in Japan. Nothing maid about it.

ahaha ok then, so she's a rough looking lolita.

"Cutsey Poo"... What exactly is the direct translation of THAT?
