Actress Shinobu Otake appears in MasterCard commercial

TOKYO —

Actress Shinobu Otake, 50, on Monday joked that she might not have got a divorce from comedian Sanma if her husband had given her a credit card to splurge with. Otake was speaking at an event to preview MasterCard’s new TV commercial “Roman Day,” held in Roppongi.

In the talk session, Otake said, “When my friend told her husband she wanted to study abroad, he gave her a credit card and told her she could do whatever she wants with it. If I’d had such a nice husband like that, I wouldn’t have divorced.”

The new TV commercial features Otake and actor Akihiro Shimizu, 50, and targets mature couples in their 50s and 60s. It will be will be aired nationwide from May 31.
