TOKYO —
Film maker Shochiku says the 19th movie in the popular fishing series “Tsuribaka nisshi” will star Takako Tokiwa, 36, as the 21st heroine in the long-running series. The films are about a salaryman (Toshiyuki Nishida, 60) and his president (Rentaro Mikuni, 85) who travel nationwide for their fishing hobby. The 19th film is set in Oita Prefecture.
Tokiwa on Tuesday said, “It’s honor for me to join a film with such a long history.”
The film is scheduled to be released in October.

I've seen Nishida on TV a few times where he wasn't looking all that great. I hope he's still up to making another movie.

They're making a spinoff about the protagonists' kids, who've become delinquent because their fathers are always off fishing.
Working title: Suribaka Nisshi.
