TOKYO —
Actress Tomoko Yamaguchi, 43, is looking to solve another da Vinci code. The actress will host a special TV program on Leonardo da Vinci’s lost painting “Battle of Anghiari.” The program seeks to explain the mystery of whether Italian painter Giorgio Vasari hid da Vinci’s work behind one of his murals at Vecchio Palace in Florence.
Yamaguchi, who visited Italy, said, “I was very impressed when I stood in front of Vasari’s mural. I stood there staring at it, thinking what kind of people Vasari and da Vinci were. As I travel the world, I often feel West and East are mutually connected through art.”
The program will air on the NTV network on April 29.
