Actress Yui Aragaki on Wednesday said on her official blog she would close it to achieve an emotional closure of sorts at the time of her 20th birthday the same day.

In the last entry, Aragaki said, “Today is my 20th birthday, which is the end of my teenage life. Since I started the blog for a limited time until Jan 1, 2008, and extended the closure date, it is the right time to end it today. I really appreciate my fans who post more than 1,000 comments whenever I write an entry.” She said she will continue to update her official blog for mobile phones weekly.

According to Cyber Agent Corp which manages the blog, Aragaki’s blog has received from 1,000 to 5,000 comments on every entry since its launch in November, 2007, and has been one of the most popular celebrity blogs.

Wish that were true. Wouldn't have all the problems of an aging population. Did you say '12-year-olds', with a wink, I notice, to disguise the swipe? I guess it doesn't matter if someone making a clever remark here is not from Okinawa, or elsewhere in Japan, or wherever. Making one-sided remarks from a limited vision is telling though. The moderator will say 'Back on topic, please'. OK, sorry. Yui is 20 now, and I congratulate her on that and on her blog having been so popular!

She has been in a number of popular drama's Dragon Zakua, Gal Cir, Sh15ua, My Boss my hero...Several movies, video games, anime, commercials, and has released an album. She has been around 3-4 years. p.s. she is also known as Gakky.

presto, I've been in Okinawa for a little while now, and in Mainland Japan for a few years before that. I recognize, what I consider, many of the celebraties here. And you know what, she really isn't all that special from where I sit. Who is she? Wait, I just looked it up on the interwebs. She's an idol. That pretty much means no talent hack with a pretty face that looks good in a bikini. That pretty much sums it up.

That's good enough to have a career in the entertainmet industry and to already have a filmography at the age of 20. Not much to complain about.

Uh, have you seen what it takes to have a career in the entertainment industry here? You need a) a pretty face, b) a gimmick. That's usually about it. Which explains why she has a career. It'll pass though, and she'll fade away soon enough. Why? No talent. Although there are some good actors and actresses here, she ain't one.

I don't understand the thought processes of people who seem to think that one can decide whether any actor or actress has any "acting talent" at the age of 20. Everyone who thought Cher had acting talent when she was 20 raise your hand.
