Former porn star Ai Iijima, 35, who retired from showbiz last year, on Friday said on her official blog she is considering a hostess job at a club accepting customers in the morning, which is called “Asa kyaba.”

Iijima said, “I will write my blog as an unemployed person for another 10 times. What should I do then? How about a morning hostess club? That would be an amazing thing, wouldn’t it?”

  Greenteaonsens and Smitty, The reason I do respect her is because she really had the cards stacked against her and still succeeded. She was raped as a child and her relationship with her parents was so bad that she ran away from home and lived on the streets. In order to survive, she sold her body, leading to her AV career. Gradually, she tried to go mainstream, like with Gilgamesh Nights and then on to being a "normal" talento.
  She was widely hated by the established talento because of her past and endured a lot of unnecessary crap off camera from the people she worked with. Through all of that, she still came out on top. For me, I think that's pretty admirable and I take my hat off to her.
  I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this topic.

  She did look very stressed out when she gave up her celbrity lifestyle. She looked like a nervous wreck. She took a needed break. Despite being an ex porn star she is seen more than just a sexual object. She has a strong will and seems quite intelligent. All the best to her.

  I agree. That was a great post.

  In addition, considering how much she was on TV pretty, how well her biography sold and the movie adaption release years ago, this can hardly be seen as a "show business comeback". Instead, it seems rather sad to me.

  It's too bad that people still looked down upon her because of her past. Hopefully that wasn't one of the reasons she decided to retire. I enjoyed her on the variety shows that I sometimes watched.

  I have no respect for her either, nor do I most Japanese 'talents' on TV. This is pretty typical, and I knew when they showed that big sob story TV special about quitting she'd be back at it within a couple of years. Desperate cries for attention was all it was, and now her big 'comeback' will put the limelight on her, too. Probably the only male with an opinion I agree with here.   I thought she was ill or something. I did wonder whether it had anything to do with her AV career and whether it was related to any diseases she may have picked up while working in that industry.
