Aki Hoshino celebrated her 33rd birthday with a surprise birthday cake at a new product release event in Tokyo on Sunday, and vowed to “keep striving to be young so I don’t get called an ‘Oba-san.’”
Hoshino was promoting a new pair of leggings with a compression feature she helped develop, and used her own two shapely legs to show off the product. She explained she was making the proper efforts to avoid succumbing to middle age, saying, “Normally when I’m at home, I always walk around on tip-toes.”
As Sunday was also White Day, Hoshino was asked whether her boyfriend, 20-year-old racehorse jockey Kosei Miura, properly returned her Valentine’s favor or not. She brushed off the question by saying she had given out chocolates to everyone, then later adamantly stressed she had no plans to get married this year.

Given that she probably wears high heels most of the time outside, she would be better off not walking on her tip toes at home- she needs to stretch her Achilles tendons and calf muscles, which can be severely shortened by constant wearing of high heels.

Pukey: You are right. Too much pressure on women to stay young-looking and cute here, even if that means doing things that aren't good for your body like walking on your toes all the time. And too many women who act younger than they really are in order to be desirable. It is sad that people don't value a woman who is mature and sexy from the inside out.
