Akiko Wada to appear in cosmetic TV commercial without make-up

TOKYO —

Singer Akiko Wada, 58, is making her first appearance in a TV commercial for cosmetics and she doesn’t wear makeup. The ads, which began airing on Friday, feature the 58-year-old singer promoting the gel pack “Nano Aqua.”

Wada said, “I tried to pretend to be a super model awhile we were filming the commercial. I’m very confident in my skin. That’s why I accepted this TV commercial offer.”

    I'm a women with a really deep voice, too. I can't help it! My father is a baritone, my mother an alto. I RESENT you thoughtful fools for equating that with "masculine" because, goddamit, I am NOT a MAN! I literally can NOT rachet my voice artificially up into the stratosphere, that "zone of kawaii" that ya'll seem to fixate on. Yet, I'm as feminine as they are, but you don't see it.
