Couch potato judge and juries have been going on for years. The truth is though they never really see the whole picture and make judgment calls on emotions rather than fact. Millions still claim OJ was guilty, but according to the American system and laws, he was found not guilty. I agree with the American law system. It might free some who are actually guilty, but in most cases it is quite fair (Not counting divorce court :-)).

"our justice system, if not broken, is definitely in trouble"

They should have this here in Japan!!

PS - OJ Simpson was found "responsible" at a later civil trial and ordered to pay $33.5m compensation.

@deadbeatles, I recommend you don't say that to a guy driving a pickup truck in Texas. :-)

“I think these shows are tapping into our culture’s widespread sense that our justice system, if not broken, is definitely in trouble,”

The 9th Circuit Courts are really laughable. 68% of the judges are hand-picked and appointed by Democratic Presidents. Talk about political liberalism, sheesh-

No wonder in most legal circles on the US West Coast refer to these courts and judges as the 9th "circus" and not the 9th curcuit.
