TOKYO —
An anniversary single of the Beatles’ hit, “Rock and Roll Music,” will be a rereleased to celebrate 45 years since the band landed in Japan for the first time. The song opened the band’s monumental 1966 performance at the Tokyo Budokan, and was also released as a single exclusively in Japan. Each copy of the strictly limited new release will feature a print number, making each an instant collectible.
June 29 was designated “Beatles Day” in Japan to commemorate June 29, 1966: the day the Beatles stepped off the plane at Haneda airport.
The new collectible anniversary release will carry the same cover photo of the original release, with the words “The Beatles, 45th Anniversary of the Japan Tour” inscribed. One copy of the collectible single will sell for 1,500 yen.

The system just keeps on leaching and leaching. The Beatles are elevator music. Get with the times.

Ihavegreatlegs You may very well have great legs, but you have awful taste in music... The Beatles are largely renowned as the perhaps greatest pop/rock band of all time by not only fans but also critics and musicians alike... But perhaps you h know something everybody else doesn't Get with the times? Supply the name of 2 currents bands/musicians that come close to the Beatles in talent, innovation, and melody...

Name two bands/musicians that have not been influenced by the Beatles - To paraphrase Madonna: "Regardless of genre, we have all been influenced by the Beatles."

Vienna, you make a good point, but this single is not one of their notable achievements. Not only did they not write it, they did not make it famous. It's not up to their usual standards.

They are probably one of the most commercially successful, and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music. and also sold more albums in the United States than any other artist.
