TOKYO —

Actor Arata Furuta, 42, on Tuesday started his latest stage play “Goemon Rock” at Shinjuku-Koma Theater in Tokyo. Furuta injured his cheek when he fainted during a rehearsal and was taken to hospital. Furata said, “It was so painful, but it is OK now. The stage is very festive and full of people.”

The play will run through July 28, and co-stars actress Yasuko Matsuyuki, 35, and actor Yosuke Eguchi, 40.
