CANNES —
Major record label Avex staged a huge 400 million yen PR party in Cannes on Wednesday night to promote its artists to the world’s entertainment media. Singers Manabu Oshio, Ami Suzuki, actor Saki Takaoka and other Avex artists as well as 150 Avex staff attended the party held at Martinez hotel.
At the party, Avex’s new film “Red Cliff” was previewed for invited film producers. Avex also announced Takaoka will be cast as the heroine in a joint U.S.-Japan production of “The Hariyama Bridge,” scheduled to be released next year.
Avex says its will focus more on film production in addition to its conventional music activities.
