Awaiting Lady Gaga, Asia sees more live music than ever

She must love Japan more than America,

Dislike her all you want, but I have lots of respect for Lady Gaga in that she writes all her own songs, plays instruments (and well, at that), and has an amazingly powerful voice - and she never autotunes, always performs raw and live. Additionally, the charity work she does for LGBT issues make her really difficult not to like. Some of her songs are a little too pop for me, but some of them are pretty hardcore.

It's good to know she's so popular in Japan - maybe that'll encourage them to promote their own actual musically talented titans instead of spend their money on the plastic factory made crap.

She was pretty awesome on the New Year's NHK program. No idea what the oldsters thought when presented with her show, but they must have been stunned. She's fantastic. And, I'm from San Francisco, and really miss this type of edgy, intelligent, non-cutie music.
