Aya Ueto looking forward to smooth ride on new Skyliner

TOKYO —

Actress Aya Ueto is enthusiastic about Keisei Railway’s new Skyliner Airport Express. Ueto, 22, turned up at the preview this week along with Japanese fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto, who designed the car. “I often write letters on trains, but it’s hard when the train rocks. With this train, I’m looking forward to a much smoother ride. It should be really comfortable.”

The new Skyliner, which will be launched in 2010, can go as fast as 160 kilometers an hour. It will cover the distance between Nippori in Tokyo and Narita Airport in 36 minutes.

Stuff Narita! I'm going abroad for my vacation just before the GW rush and I'm leaving via Haneda which will still be cheaper and quicker for me to get to.

Why, oh why ---- couldn't the headline be, "Aya Ueto looking forward to unknown middle-aged gaijin salaryman?" D-oH! I never get any breaks.

  • lipscombe at 03:57 AM JST - 13th April

she's too busy being excited about all the Japanese Salarymen she will spend hours conversing during breaks from writing letters on her (to be) frequent Skyliner journeys 2 or 3 years from now. Actually I heard she has a special red marker pen she is using to cross off each day on her calendar and can barely get herself to sleep each night since the anticipation is almost unbearable
