Ayumi Hamasaki
Friday 20th November, 04:00 AM JST
TOKYO —
Singer Ayumi Hamasaki, 31, had her wish come true when her new song “You were…” was chosen as the theme song for the Japanese language version of Walt Disney’s animated film “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” (“Tinkaberu to tsuki no ishi.”)
Hamasaki was chosen for the role as she “is as popular as Tinkerbell with Japanese women, and has the power to make those around her feel good,” says one industry insider. Hamasaki said: “I’m just honored to be part of something that is loved by people all over the world.”
Another of Hamasaki’s new songs – “BALLAD” – will be used as the theme song for “Sokyu no subaru” to be shown on NHK BS hi from Jan 2. Both “You were…” and “BALLAD” will go on sale Dec 29.
“Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” opens on Dec 23.

Ayumi is a tinker bell

Ayumi is actually a very very intelligent business woman and can actually sing. Why would she want to be a tinker bell. Brings her down to no talent level talentos

Your second comment disproves your first.

How does "Lost treasure" get translated to "Moon rock?" Im sometimes dumbfounded at the titles the Japanese version gets. (Not that its really suprising) This chick is an all-right vocalist. Not my cup of tea but far better than half of the 12 year olds they have "singing" these days.

Stop the funny stuff !

Yelnats: She isn't a business woman, like most "talento" in Japan she earns a flat fee every month from her talent agency, she is required to do anything they tell her. She doesn't write her songs just sings what she is told to sing.

Her voice attracts all the canines in my neighborhood. The recording engineers might want to lighten up on the sound compression a bit.

@DarkKnghtZ
it's because the story is centered around the foretelling of a prophecy/legend by a moonstone.

@gogogo - You obviously know nothing about ayumi hamasaki. She does in fact write ALL of her own lyrics. She does not "sing what she is told to sing". Maybe you should do some research before writing something that makes you look like a total moron.

Her voice has a nasal quality comparable to a kazoo,
