he is a man, kind and good and handsome, no need to insult him. He is a very talented actor. I love his performances in Winter sonata (Fyu no sonata) and Soldiers of Love (Ai no Guntai), especially in Ai no Guntai where he performed an arrogant money chasing young man who understood through his terminal disease the real meaning of true love. His role was of a man who had brain cancer and lost his ability to see, speak and hear and communicated with his love by the touch of the hand. It was a great performance and I love this actor since then.

PS. i omitted his stellar performance in the movie Scandal which is a remake of Liasons Dangereuse (sp). He played the villain womanazer who fell in love with a pristine woman and died for love. Great performance and one of my favourite movies, I cannot decide who performed better John Malkovich or him in the same role. stunning, charismatic.

I know that many dismiss him as an actor based on his popularity with the Japanese obasans but without watching any of his movies or drama. he is a good actor, please see the movie Scandal, it is so aesthetical, so beautiful and lyrical and tragic, the music is great, the acting superb.

Sorry, I wrote the name of the drama in Japanese as I remembered it but I saw the drama long time ago so myabe I was wrong about the name. I found the correct title in English. The english name is Did We Really Love? (aka True to Love or Have We Really Loved?)
