Nippon Ham Fighters star Yu Darvish, 21, said on his official blog Monday that his actress wife Saeko, 21, gave birth to a son at 2 p.m. in Sapporo. He said both the baby and mother are fine. “Since he is our first child, we might have some trouble, but we will share child-rearing duties as much as we can.”

Darvish and Saeko married last November, in what tabloid media reported was a shotgun marriage.

  Guess the tabloids were correct, once again, since there is no mention of the baby being at least 3 months premature. At least they are doing their part to reverse the declining population.
