"the win was particularly important for the inspiration it gave to African-Americans"
It's not exactly inspiring to have 95% plus of African-Americans voting for a black candidate when that candidate got only 53% of the total votes. What does that say about many, if not the majority of black voters? It says they voted for that candidate because of his skin color.
But @above you know that whites in particular
like yourself would not under any degree, be willing
to give a black man their vote. You would always vote for
a fellow white person not matter what,BUT thankfully there
are people, though even hesitant, did vote for someone of a
different color.
It sounds like you are the community agonizer now.
Read,acknowledge within and weep.
sarge: 95% of black people voted for Obama because he was a better candidate, smarter, calmer, younger and had better policy approach. Also Obama ran a better campaign
Sarge, for many Americans, especially blacks, tackling racism is a major issue. Maybe you missed it, but Obama gave an amazing 30 minute speech about racism during the primaries. Did you ever think that black people are voting for Obama because he's the only candidate to actually try to fix this problem?
Beyonce just wanted to be where history was being made. Her cd release can wait... this however cannot. So did I!
I support Obama and Biden and I think McCain is a great man... however his campaign and Sarah Palin didn't do it for me. The best party won so get over it.
Sarge, Obama won least of all because unlike you he can see the obvious - i.e. that the last 8 years have been disastrous for America's economy and its standing in the world, and because electing McCain would be like asking for another 4 years of the same. The republicans have done their best to try and wreck the country they keep claiming to love, which makes it so ironic (apart from completely ludicrous) when you and your pals describe Obama as being "anti-American". Obama's the obvious choice for real patriots and anyone who wishes America well.
As someone has said very accurately, Bush was an abberation; Obama is the first 21st Century American president.
The news is about Beyonce cancelling her 'lucrative' business trip to Japan for the support of Obama...how patriotic she is...I'm proud of her eventhough I'm not an American...So, hello you guys..go argue somewhere else about racism of your country..please!

So she is assuming that Obama will want her to perform? Why? He's got plenty of others to decide from. Her ego is huge.

A lot can be said about the inexperience community organiser who out organised both the McCain and Clinton more experienced machines.

Sarge - so the people who voted for McCain were only voting for him because he's not black?
