Nobody listens to the same single 100 times let alone 1,500 time. The calculations for a stream x 100 = 1 single doesn't make sense. Why not just say how many streams, downloads and purchases of each song and the reader can decide what each figure is worth to them.

cwhite, that 1500 streams do not have to come from a single user. 1500 users could each stream 1 time, and that would equal 1 album sale.
When you do think however, if someone listens to 4 songs off of the album, that drops the total number of users needed to only 425. Very easily, 425 users could equal 1 album sale very quickly.

The chart should be based on what people have spent money on. I expect record companies will set up thousands of computers to stream whatever current track they are promoting and boost its position in the charts. Plus, they will collect royalites from the streamers whilst they do so.
