Sad thing is this would be perfectly legal in Japan, it's how AKB gets into the charts with their "vote" 1 per CD deal and people end up buying hundreds of them.

Gutted. Poor Jay Z won't get the recognition he so richly deserves for this masterpiece. even the name is genius. Yeezy can eat his heart out......

I'm a Maeda fan, acting not singing (I think she sounds a bit like a duck sometimes) but I think the entire AKB and all the other alphabet groups they have are a bit over-used, and over-seen. Sometimes you can't watch or read anything on Japanese music without being banged over the head with them. I actually ignore most of what is written or played now days. I'm a bit burned out by them.

All I can think of with this Jay Z thingie is were they thinking before hand about all the sales numbers they were going to get and just didn't check their facts. Which would be a bit sad for the organization.

He already sold a million before it even being released so with or without Billboard, he is laughing all the way to the bank. If this album is not along the lines of "Reasonable Doubt, "The Blueprint" or "The Black Album", my money will stay in the bank.

Not sure I follow that - For Jay Z, a company bought a million copies then gave them away as freebies. It is a way to keep the Samsung brand in favour by giving some of your clientele something for free. For AKB, they charge the fans money for a CD that entitles them to a vote in who gets to be in front. Fans can buy as many as they like, but no-one gets anything for free (except Mr Akimoto, who gets lots of cash for no doing much).

You could do an AKB48 style stunt and buy the same album you already have, therefore you are unlikely to be disappointed, right?
