Billy's Bootcamp to return to Osaka

American fitness guru Billy Blanks, 53, will return to Japan to promote his “Billy's Bootcamp in Japan” event in Osaka on Saturday, according to the organizer.

At the event, Blanks will directly instruct participants. He said in an official comment, “We last had the bootcamp in Osaka in March and it was a success. I'm looking forward to seeing the people of Osaka again.”

Blanks has become a phenomenon in Japan. In 2007, he sold more than $130 million worth of merchandise, including more than a million copies of his "Billy's BootCamp" video series, which includes four DVDs.

Billy rocks, great for him. He's about changing one's self on the inside, not only on the outside physically, without changing your mentality you will never be one hundred percent fit.

The missus bought a copy of Billy's Boot Camp, gave it the boot after about 2 weeks because it was too hard, the boys also gave it a try and declared it too easy. Had a go myself, but these old bones (and numerous old injuries) quickly put a stop to my efforts.

He's another person who has discovered that for those who know the saying about a fool and his money, Japan is an absolute gold mine.

He is sure popular here!! I think people who use this program have to tailor it to themselves. Keeping up with him doesn't have to be the goal. Exercize should be enjoyable and satisfying. Intensity shouldn't be the goal for non athletes.

My family prefers Wii Fit. Much more fun.

Someone is making a lot of money on these videos and I'm not sure it's him. On a recent flight back from the states he was back in steerage with the rest of us poor folk. Either he was downgraded, is extremely frugal, or spends all his money on something else.

He's a smart fellow if he realizes that it's a fad!! He'd make a good president if he has that kind of sense!! Billy for Prez !!!!

It is really hard, but don't give up. Work on it progressively. Do 5 minutes only at first. Then add 2-3 minutes each time you do it. You'll be able to finish it in about 4-6 months.

Actually, I'd recommend the Abs Diet I and II workout if Billy's is too hard. That one is cheaper and better in my opinion. Three levels, 15 minutes each. You don't have to use those bands either.

Of course, there is so much good free stuff on Youtube. It's amazing that people spend money on anything fitness related. We need to return to the days when the outdoors was our gym.

Hats off to this guy. $130 million of sales from a single personality-based brand is impressive.

Billy certainly is the "Best Exercisist" I think.

Japanese will by anything. Stamp "Dai ninki" on it and watch the cash roll in.
