"The Next Day" is a fantastic album. Indeed Bowie is too cool to show up at the awards show - just like he was too cool to accept a knighthood. I like the man's priorities.

Why is Lorde taking an award instead of Lady Gaga a shock? Although not particularly a fan of Lorde's music (or Gaga's... or Pop for that matter), the rise of Lorde as a media/pop sensation would seem to make awards hardly a surprise.

I was thinking just the other day, Bowie is 30 years older than me. I can only dream that when I reach his age, I could be as cool.
