TOKYO —

The music performance “Blast II: Mix” started its summer run this week at the Tokyo International Forum. The performance consists of brass bands, baton-twirling and dances. Several celebrities are taking part.

Mari Yaguchi, 25, an ex-Morning Musume member, said, “Japanese baton twirler Chiho Honjo’s performance was great although she is as small as I am. I wish I had professional skills like her. I’m good at dancing but not at sports.”

“Blast” started in London in 1999. The Japan tour has been held annually since 2006. “Blast II” will run through Aug 31 in Tokyo, and tour Nagoya and Fukuoka in September.

This is an unbelievably fantastic performance. I saw Blast in Hiroshima 2 years ago. Too bad this city is by-passed this time :-(
