TOKYO —
British diva Leona Lewis, 23, was this week appointed goodwill ambassador for UK-Japan 2008 cultural exchange project by the British embassy in Japan.
Lewis said, “It’s a honor for me to be appointed. I hope to introduce British music in Japan by visiting here many times. I also want to introduce Japanese music in the UK. Since I visited Harajuku last time I was here in May, I would like visit Kyoto this time.”

Leona has this one hit "Bleeding Love." I guess the popularity of this one song makes her qualified to become a goodwill ambassador.

Oh, give me a break! Wasn`t she the one who won the X-factor reality TV contest? A great singer to be sure, but qualified to be a goodwill ambassador???!

well her job won't be very hard. hopefully someone will tell her japan is one of the biggest markets for foreign music.
