Christel Takigawa 'graduates' from TV announcer's job

TOKYO —

Christel Takigawa “graduated” from her role as an announcer at Fuji TV after seven years last week, and appears in the newest commercial of TSUBAKI, a hair product brand from Shiseido.

In her debut commercial appearance, Takigawa, 32, delivers a clear message of ability. Different from her previous formal setting as news anchor, it includes scenes with her smiling. The shooting took place near Fuji TV in a park at Odaiba and she tried 20 times to perfect the take, she said.

I agree, why do the Japanese guys think Christel is so hot? She is a pretty plain half. Is it because she is attainable? When compared to Rinka or Meisa Kuroki she looks pretty drab or is she suppose to be the thinking man's crumpet?

In Japan, the word is often used for girls leaving Morning Musume. As long as they don't bastardize the English word and stick to using the Japanese word, sotsugyou.

Me neither, until I crosschecked "graduate" in Merriam-Webster, which says "to pass from one stage of experience, proficiency, or prestige to a usually higher one" (vi. definition 2).

Which means, Christel-Masami has graduated from news anchor level to some kind of multi-talent which covers such aspects as modelling, free caster, MC etc. In other words, more work opportunities outside the typical TV/news environment. Unfortunately, that also means the blurring of the thin line between news and entertainment, a problem being discussed in various forums etc.

Dishdash, please tell me that your statement was not meant to imply that Rinka is attractive? That girl is 100% fake, all from money. At least Krystal SEEMS real enough. I dont have a thing for her, but shes an all right looking woman, and seems to take her job(s) seriously. Good for her.
