TOKYO —
Tickets for a joint Eric Clapton/Steve Winwood concert series, to kick off at Osaka Castle Hall on Nov 21-22, before moving to Yokohama and Tokyo, are now on sale.
Clapton, who has a reputation of being very interested in Japan, commented after the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami disaster: “I feel very sorry for all who were affected and all who lost friends and loved ones. I hope Steve and I can help with this concert.”
Winwood also commented, “I sincerely hope and pray for a quick recovery. I know the people of Japan can do it.”

Capton has an ego problem and his concerts are terrible. Boring old blues stuff no one ever heard of.

Clapton does not play his old stuff at all. People beg him too but he just sits there and does old Jazz stuff.

If Ginger Baker joined them, there would be a concert. Doubt if he could get in the country, though.

Tue, but with Stevie there, this could be a good concert. Let's hear some Blind Faith.

Saw Blind Faith way back when they played at Detroit's Olympia Stadium (R.I.P.) -- on the bill were The Frost, Taste (w/ Rory Gallagher) and Bonnie, Delaney & Friends.
I doubt if this concert will come anywhere near matching that one. When Blind Faith did their last encore, they were joined by Bonnie et. al. for the best rendition of Sunshine of Your Love I've ever heard. Miss Ric Grech's violin on Sea of Joy.

Cripes, tickets are 12,000 yen. I paid only 6,000 yen to see BB King. Of course that was a while ago heh heh

I Actually saw him couple times. Few years ago when I saw Clapton's concert, I was disappointed with lack of energy and look like he's just going through motions. His early stuff with Cream, with such hits as crossroads and white room is great. Also played with Yardbirds and Derek and the Dominos. One of the greats but he and Winwood got alot of milage. They're both outdated and not worth the money to see. I rather see Neil Young or Journey from that era.

Agree with those saying Clapton's concert will probably not be worth it. While I haven't seen him in concert, reviews of his live shows at large venues in the US have been largely terrible. The guy comes off as very lazy and disinterested and even has other people in his band do all the heavy guitar riffing & soloing.

"The guy comes off as very lazy"
