Comedian Yoshimi Tokui tries on wedding dress for upcoming show about love and marriage

TOKYO —

Comedian Yoshimi Tokui, 34, tried on a wedding dress for the first time when he lined up as the bride of his comedy duo partner, Mitsunori Fukuda, 34, to promote Nippon TV’s new show about love and marriage “Ai no onayami kaiketsu! Shiawase kekkon soudanjo.”

Model Moe Oshikiri, 29, and comedian Koji Imada, 43, also lined up for pictures as bride and groom. The foursome will host the upcoming show which will air on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. from Sept 1.

Tokui looked comfortable in the wedding dress and said that he felt a sense of rivalry with Oshikiri on stage. “I thought I looked pretty good when I saw myself in the mirror backstage,” he added. Fukuda, the other half of comedy duo Tutorial, commented on his ex-girlfriend trying to get back together with him. “Women in their 30s are scary, and demand that you meet their parents.”

Popular model Yuri Ebihara, 29, will also appear as a special presenter. Celebrity guests who are single will talk about their views on love and marriage, and those who have gone through divorce will talk about problems which arose after they tied the knot.

Wow more quality J-TV, featuring four un-funny people. No wonder young folks here are spending so much time on the mobile phone and PCs.

Tokui is one of the few funny guys on TV.

Altria -- funny for Japan and the 5th grade level of comedy -- Yes, I'll grant you that. Truly funny, hardly.

Or funny for people who can actually understand Japanese well

“Women in their 30s are scary...”

Umm...I've heard the same argument from friends and I think it's weak. If you acted like a real man in the first place they wouldn't be so scary. I have a J-guy friend who is 32 and dating a chick straight out of high school for the same reason. He says it's less stress and that he doesn't have to think about marriage or commitment because she's so young.

is it odd that I think Tokui looks better in a wedding dress than Oshikiri-chan? O_O
