Comic storyteller starts U.S. tour

Comic storyteller Kaishi Katsura, 38, started his U.S. tour this week in Seattle to Japanese traditional comic storytelling in English. He plans to perform for Japanese-Americans and other groups all over the U.S. Katsura, who held a similar event in New York last year, said, “Since the event was so well received, I decided to tour the U.S.”

He has been named as a cultural exchange ambassador by Japan's Cultural Affairs Agency. According to his agent, he is scheduled to visit Portland, San Francisco, Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Washington DC, New York and Kansas, and other cities.
