Crystal Kay cancels tour due to illness

TOKYO —
Singer Crystal Kay, 24, has canceled her all-Japan tour due to illness. Doctors diagnosed Kay with a kidney disease recently when she checked into the hospital feeling unwell.
Doctors advised her to take a break from performing and to discontinue her tour plans. There is no word yet on whether the 11-concert tour, which was to start in February, will be rescheduled.

Mr Dog, it's like saying she had been diagnosed with "a virus." Why even mention it if you're going to play hard-to-get? To encourage speculation?

I doubt it's any "playing hard to get". She's cancelled a tour, you can't cancel a whole tour and say your reason is "I have a virus" because people will say "what virus?". At least she's being more upfront than most. Besides, why does she have to give out any more information? Just because she has had to cancel some concerts, doesn't mean she can't have any privacy.

I usually can't stomach J-pop pentatonic, repetitive crap, but Crystal's music is a bit different, the girl really has talent and can even sing, having said that, hopefully, she can really get over this. I also think she has a right to privacy and doesn't need or owe anyone "detailed" information about her private life. What's more important, the concerts or her health?? I wish her all the best!

Her daddy is a black american soldier...she speaks pretty good English, but I wonder if she can actually sing in Engllish. She is a little more mature acting on TV than some of the pop tarts you see. good luck to her.

Actually her mom is Korean. I've spoken with her dad a few times. He is not crazy about her doing J-pop. Hope she recovers fully.
