That's all well and good, but can we see any of the seasons with subtitles in Japan??

Yes you can. Ever heard of a place called Tsutaya?

Yes, at least seasons 1 and 2 can be rented.

Game ot Thrones and its sequels were even better in the novels. There were so many unnecessary and pointless changes in the conversion to film. Worst of all was changing the first sex scene between Drogo and Daenerys from a gentle marriage consumation and loss of virginity into a brutal, selfish act. Not only did it rob viewers of the opportunity to see Drogo as more than just a savage, it robbed young men of an educational opportunity when it comes to how they think of and treat girls. I am pretty sure I slammed my fist on the table when I saw they did that.

But still, a great show for its visuals, and at least the plot complexity and willingness to kill key characters are true to the books.

And I still like Walking Dead as much as I am getting annoyed by how the writers are making the characters progressively stupid and how the zombies just hang back sometimes so that dialogue can happen, among other inconsistencies. Two things that bothered me was Glenn, supposedly intelligent, diving into a crowd of zombies and somehow getting out unscathed, and Darryl not only getting drunk, but agreeing to burn down the only shelter they have in the middle of the woods and at night. Why not just stick a crossbow bolt in your own eye socket?

Subtitles as in English or Japanese subtitles? I usually watch my Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Arrow, etc., via online streaming for free and the quality is pretty good.

Streaming is legal, and using a VPN to connect to another country and purchasing from their store is also legal (in Japan).

I just hope to god Martin finishes the last two books before he dies and/or the show catches up...

All fine and dandy, and some day I'll watch it, but I'm wondering about the relevance of the story given that it will not be shown here for quite some time.

felguard: what sites do you use? I've tried a few, and with some exceptions (ex. Southparkstudio) it always says "you cannot view the video from your location (ie. Japan)".

Read the Song of Ice and Fire series first before you watch if you have the time. The books are worth it and few people will read them once they've watched Game of Thrones.

Here is someone who clearly has their own vision of how they would perform in this situation.. have you thought about this a lot?

I'm with Butters from South Park. Enough of all this weiner stuff already, we want to know what happens when the dragons arrive.
